Название конкурса: "Самый тяжелый идеальный мат"
Задание: #n, h#n, s#n (n=2...10) Тема: задача с идеальным матом, имеющим наибольший суммарный вес участвующих белых и черных фигур: король – 2 балла, ферзь – 8 баллов, ладья – 5 баллов, слон и конь – по 3 балла, пешка – 1 балл. В данном конкурсе в матовой позиции допускается наличие критически важных для мата связок (см. пример 1).
Если задача имеет несколько вариантов (решений в h#), оканчивающихся идеальными матами, то подсчет баллов выполняется так. Сначала засчитывается полное количество баллов в самом весомом варианте (решении) A. Затем, при подсчете баллов в мате каждого из остальных вариантов (решений) к указанному количеству прибавляются баллы за каждую фигуру, стоящую на другом поле по сравнению с матом варианта (решения) А, а также за каждую фигуру, отсутствовавшую в мате варианта (решения) А (т. е. взятую в А). Таким образом, каждая фигура на конкретном поле будет посчитана ровно один раз.
Условия:
- минимальное количество фигур в диаграммной позиции – 6;
- запрещены сверхкомплект, близнецы любого типа, сказочные фигуры и условия;
- множественные решения разрешены только в задачах на кооперативный мат;
- не учитываются иллюзорная игра, ложная игра и ходы, не защищающие от угрозы;
- не учитываются варианты неполной длины в задачах на прямой и обратный мат в 3 или более ходов;
- в #n и s#n угроза, заканчивающаяся идеальным матом, учитывается только если она имеет полную длину;
- в #n и s#n не учитываются угроза и варианты, заканчивающиеся неидеальными матами;
- в h#n не допускаются решения, заканчивающиеся неидеальными матами;
- не допускается нахождение под шахом короля в диаграммной позиции;
- не допускается ни одной дуали в вариантах полной длины, в том числе и дуали на матующем ходу при превращении пешки в ферзя/слона или ферзя/ладью;
- не допускается ни одной дуали в задачах на прямой и обратный мат в 2-3 хода, если задача относится к типу «на цугцванг»;
- в задачах на прямой и обратный мат первым ходом запрещен шах и взятие черной фигуры (взятие черной пешки разрешено).
Бонусы и штрафы:
- за взятие фигуры любого цвета – штраф 2 балла, за взятие пешки любого цвета – штраф 1 балл;
- за отсутствие взятий в каком-либо варианте (решении) с идеальным матом – бонус в размере количества фигур в финальной позиции этого варианта (решения);
- за зеркальный идеальный мат – бонус 3, 5 или 8 баллов в зависимости от количества свободных полей вокруг короля (в углу, на краю или в центре);
- за вступительный ход с отдачей поля чёрному королю – бонус 3 балла за каждое отданное поле (кроме h#);
- за вступительный ход с отнятием поля у чёрного короля – штраф 5 баллов за каждое отнятое поле (кроме h#).
Совместные композиции разрешены. Каждый автор в каждый раздел может прислать не более двух композиций, включая совместные. В конкурсе побеждает задача, набравшая наибольшее количество баллов среди задач всех разделов.
Технический подсчет баллов осуществляется по формуле: S = N + B – D, где S – оценка задачи в баллах; N – сумма баллов за все фигуры, участвующие в идеальном мате (матах); В – сумма бонусов; D – сумма штрафов.
Особо будут отмечены скахографические задачи, так или иначе связанные с Новым Годом: например, задачи, где начальное или конечное положение фигур напоминает елочку (как в TT-100).
Отдельно планируется подвести итоги в категории юных композиторов (не старше 18 лет).

Tourney name: "The most valuable ideal mate"
Stipulation: #n, h#n, s#n (n=2...10) Theme: required a chess problem representing an ideal mate that has the highest accumulated power of white and black pieces participating in the mate position: King – 2 points, Queen – 8, Rook – 5, Bishop/ Knight – 3, Pawn – 1. The pins which are critical to the mate position are allowed in this tourney (see Example 1).
If the problem has several variations (solutions in h#) ending with ideal mates, the scoring will be calculated as follows. First, the most valuable variation/solution (in respect of cumulative power of white and black pieces participating in a final position) A gives a basic quantity of points. Then, the additional points (for all other thematic variations/solutions) will be added to basic quantity of points - for each piece/pawn which stands on another square compared to the mate position of variation/solution A, as well as for each piece/pawn which absents in the mate position of variation/solution A. By such way, each piece/pawn standing on a specific square will be considered exactly once.
Conditions:
- minimal total quantity of pieces (including pawns) in the initial (diagram) position is 6;
- any fairy pieces and conditions, any twins and extra-set pieces are not allowed;
- multiple solutions are allowed only for h#;
- set play, the tries, the moves which do not defense from a threat – are not considered;
- short variations in #3-10, s#3-10 are not considered;
- concerning n# and s#n, the threat ending with an ideal mate is considered only if it has a full length;
- concerning n# and s#n, the threat and variations ending with non-ideal mates are not considered;
- concerning h#, the solutions which ends with a non-ideal mates are not allowed;
- attacked King (under a check) in the initial (diagram) position – is not allowed;
- duals in full length variations (including those on mating move in a form of alternate promotion Queen/Rook or Queen/Bishop) are not allowed;
- if #2-3 and s#2-3 has the type “zugzwang” then duals are not allowed;
- concerning #n and s#n, a key move involving capture of a piece or check is not allowed (capture of a pawn is allowed).
Bonuses and penalties:
2 penalty points for any captured white/black piece (not pawn), 1 penalty point for any captured white/black pawn;
- for the absence of captures in any variation/solution ending with an ideal mate – k bonus points, where k being a quantity of pieces and pawns in the mate position of specific variation/solution;
- for the mirror ideal mate – from 3, 5 up to 8 bonus points depending on the quantity of empty squares around the King (in the corner, on the edge, in the center);
- in case of a flight-giving key, an additional bonus of 3 points for each flight being given (except h#);
- in case of a flight-taking key, penalty of 5 points for each flight being taken (except h#).
Joint problems are allowed. Any composer can submit no more than two entries (including joint works) in each section. A winning problem will be the one which will get the highest score among all entries in all sections.
Technically, the points will be calculated according to the following formula: S = N + B – D, where S being the number of points scored by the problem; N being the total number of pieces and pawns which participate in ideal mate (mates); B being the total number of bonus points; D being the total number of penalty points.
Scacchographical problems which related to the New Year event will be mentioned separately: for instance, the problems in which the pattern in diagram position represents a fir-tree (as in TT-100).
A separate award among the young composers (18 years and younger) is planned.
